La Grande Boucherie: A Standout Pre-Theater Gem (January 2024) My partner and I visited La Grande Boucherie in January 2024, catching an early dinner before a show. We decided to take advantage of their pre-theater menu, and it honestly ended up being a highlight of our trip. For the price, it was a fantastic deal—one of the best values we’ve found for a set menu in Manhattan, and easily one of our favorite dining experiences in the city. The food really hit the mark across the board. The mussels were incredibly fresh and served in a rich, savory broth that we couldn't stop dipping our bread into. The steak frites was a total win as well; the steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked to a flawless medium-rare, paired with those classic, crispy bistro-style frites. To finish, we tried both dessert options on the menu, and both were delicious. It was the perfect high note to end on before heading to the theater. What really pulled the whole experience together was the service, which remained attentive and professional despite the pre-theater rush. The timing was handled perfectly for our curtain call, allowing us to enjoy the meal without feeling rushed. The atmosphere at La Grande Boucherie is stunning, with its soaring ceilings and bustling French brasserie energy. If you’re looking for a reliable spot near the theater district that actually delivers on quality and value, this is it. Even two years later, we still talk about this meal.

My server Camilo for breakfast was amazing, always checking on me and making sure my food was good. Portions are not that big but I also noticed that some people ordered an omelette or even the eggs benedict and they both had a pretty decent portion. Their croissants(I personally tried the butter one) was ok, it was crispy but not much of butter in there and a bit dry. Their cocktails (I only tried the mimosa and the cucumber one, dont remember the name) mimosa’s wine was actually good, but seems like the orange juice was a bit diluted. Other drink was refreshing but a seems like it could have a more refreshing flavor. Coffee was great actually! Get a cappuccino! Again overall my experience was good, staff very friendly and nice . I will come back for dinner next time!

We had breakfast here while celebrating our wedding anniversary, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel valued throughout our visit. Even though we were only there for breakfast, they went out of their way to acknowledge our anniversary and surprised us with a thoughtful complimentary treat, which made our morning even more special. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service.

Had breakfast at Grand Boucherie and overall enjoyed the experience. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning atmosphere that makes it feel like a special place to dine. The food was delicious, and we were very happy with our meal. One challenge, however, was that the menu was not particularly vegetarian-friendly. We asked if the bacon that came with one of the dishes could be replaced with something simple, such as extra potatoes, but were told substitutions were not possible. We had hoped there might be some flexibility given the dietary preference, but unfortunately there wasn't. Our table was also located near the waiter station, which meant there was a constant amount of noise from dishes, utensils, and staff activity. It made the experience feel a little less relaxing than we would have preferred. The service was perfectly fine, but nothing especially memorable or above and beyond what you might expect at this price point. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the beautiful setting and would return again. Next time, we would hope for a quieter table and perhaps a few more vegetarian-friendly options.

We discovered this establishment serendipitously, as it was conveniently located directly across from our hotel. While seeking a dining option, we encountered this exceptional French restaurant, which boasts an outstanding ambiance and a delightful atmosphere. The interiors are beautifully designed, and the staff is consistently humble and accommodating. We have frequented this establishment on three to four occasions, and each visit has provided immense enjoyment through its cuisine, atmosphere, and service. Thank you.

Great ambiance! Great service! Best octopus in New York! I actually came the previous day but they were out of octopus. I told the waiter to save 2 for me tomorrow and when I sat down, from across the room, he held up 2 fingers signifying he remembered I wanted 2 octopus! It by far was the most tender octopus I’ve had in New York. I plan on coming back for escargot and filet!

Amazing midday lunch in the city. Asked google for a great spot for steak frites and La Grande delivered! Lunch menu was extensive. Atmosphere was unique. I liked that we were on a patio of sorts but inside the atrium made for enjoyable temps and no over crowding. Service was impeccable. Several servers and attention to detail. Food was excellent. Gazpacho was more of a blended tomato soup, smooth and creamy - and delicious. Steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The beef bourguignon was presented in a crock. It was hot and flavorful and a large portion. I highly recommend a visit.

La Grande Boucherie is a beautiful spot for brunch. The service was attentive, and the food was excellent m. The mimosas were also a highlight and definitely worth ordering. The space itself is stunning, with an Art Nouveau design that makes the entire experience feel special. From the oyster bar to every corner of the dining room, everything is thoughtfully decorated and visually impressive. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and lively without being overwhelming. I would absolutely recommend it for brunch with friends, family, or any occasion where you want a memorable setting.
